Animation Projects
During the pandemic, I was working with WorkingNation to turn to animation as a creative solution to continue telling important workforce stories safely and effectively. With live-action shoots paused or heavily restricted, animation allowed us to produce visually engaging narratives without the need for physical production crews or on location filming. This pivot not only kept production moving, but also opened up new avenues for storytelling, using stylized visuals or motion graphics to illustrate complex topics like economic shifts, job retraining, and workforce trends in a clear and accessible way.
For The Middle: Indianapolis, I used animation to create the opening sequence, setting the tone for the documentary while visually grounding viewers in the story’s themes. With limited access to live-action B-roll that captured the city’s economic evolution, this animated opener helped contextualize the local workforce challenges and frames the story of Indy’s middle class in an accessible format. I dug through old newspapers, library archives, and Indy history books for these images.

I also collaborated with my colleague from WorkingNation, Alicia Clark, on the below animated episodes. One is from the WorkingNation series, I Want That Job, and the other is about Supply Chain.
